TO: MARK FLEDER FROM: PHYLLIS LINDMEIER DATE: 16 September 2009 SUBJECT: NAVIGATION SYSTEMS REPORT
The above is from the last (36) Local Notice to Mariners. No mention is made
of disestablishing #15 Sandy Hook Channel; however, it is gone. Also, #13
Sandy Hook Channel is off station. #13 is being relocated ASAP.
I encourage everyone to be cognizant of buoys and their relative positions
each time you are out and about on the water. Report any and all discrepancies
via the chain, and if it is a critical buoy, report immediately either to
Sector New York or Station Sandy Hook.
Bridges must also be looked at for discrepancies. Especially after storms
and now after a busy boating season.
SO-NS Gene Barkey has provided the link for which PATONs still need to be i
nspected this year. Here is the address: http://www.boatmoves.com/CGAux/images/2009%20SecNY-S%20PatoN%20List.xls
If you need a chart to assist with this work, please contact me.
